In response to recent political developments in the United States, we’ve decided to reduce our reliance on U.S.-based companies and infrastructure wherever possible.

We don’t consider ourselves a political company. It’s not our role to take sides or advocate for one opinion over another. However, we firmly believe in human rights and individual freedom. These are not up for debate. Everyone should be free to live as they choose, as long as they respect the rights and freedoms of others.

It’s upsetting, and frankly disturbing, that supporting basic human rights has become a polarizing issue. It shouldn’t be controversial, yet here we are.

As a result, we will be ending our relationships with U.S.-based companies and decommissioning all U.S.-based servers and CDN PoPs. Unfortunately, this also affects some PoPs outside the U.S. that are operated by U.S.-based providers, but we are actively working on alternatives.

We understand this may impact service quality in some cases, and we deeply regret any inconvenience. However, ensuring the safety and privacy of our customers, and people in general, is more important. The current political climate in the U.S. has created too much uncertainty. Even if our U.S. partners are acting in good faith and share our values, there’s no guarantee they won’t be forced into actions that could put our customers at risk. On top of that, knowing part of our payments to these companies ultimately supports policies and actions we strongly oppose is something we can no longer accept.

That said, we cannot yet fully cut ties with PayPal and Stripe due to their overwhelming market dominance. We’re working on adding more payment options to give you better alternatives.
